Quality Control/Assurance Manager

The Lab Manager is responsible for all aspects of quality throughout the brewery.  Candidate must be able to have strong communication skills and effectively work alongside the head brewer and teammates to identify areas of continued improvement. If any beer specifications are not met, it is the responsibility of the Quality Manager to work with all departments to identify points in the process where improvements can be made.

Responsibilities include:
  • All microbiological testing around the brewery.  This includes environmental swabbing, wort stability testing, aseptic samples from fermenters, and packaged beer plating.
  • Prepare media weekly (or with assistance from a part time person)
  • Oversee the operation of the brewhouse, cellar and packaging line to ensure adherence to SOPs
  • Standard methods of assay such as IBU, color, etc.. with a spectrophotometer
  • TPO on every packaging run
  • Maintenance of all equipment related to quality – pH meter, C-DGM, spectrophotometer, laminar flow hood
  • Ordering related supplies/consumables
  • Manage beer library and conduct weekly taste panels
  • Proactively order yeast necessary to meet production schedule
  • Conduct cell counts on every batch that is brewed to ensure fermentations meet specification
Requirements:
  • The QC/QA Manager should have a strong background in food science, biochemistry and brewing science.
  • This is not an entry level job. 2+ years experience.

Brewer

We’re looking for a brewer to assist in day to day brewing operations. The candidate will be part of the core brewing team and will help in the daily coordination and execution of our brewing efforts.  Candidate must have proven brewing skills, and love making an ever-changing variety of beers for our partners and DBco.

Responsibilities include:
  • Brewing great beer
  • Milling
  • Recipe and brewsheet management
  • Brewing on our 30bbl brewhouse
  • CIP of 30bbl brewhouse vessels
  • Weekly brewhouse beautification
  • Yeast cell counting and yeast handling
  • Weekly participation in packaged beer taste panel
  • Other tasks necessary to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements:
  • 1-3+ years commercial brewery experience
  • Beer education (a plus)
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic spreadsheet skills a plus

Packaging Line Team Member – Full Time (40 hours+)

DBCo. is looking for a packaging staff to help in the the daily operation in canning, kegging and bottling. The candidate should have the drive to work in a fast-paced brewery and the desire to be an ambassador for the growing DBCo. brand.

Responsibilities include:
  • Work on the packing line for 8-10 hours per day – full time

Requirements:
  • Entry level job – no brewing experience necessary but brewery experience is preferred
  • Beer education (a plus but not required)
  • Passion, dedication and a commitment to showing up on time, every day.
  • You have to love craft beer.

Cellar Operator

This position will be part of the core brewing team and assist in the brewing process by operating and maintaining the cellar functions. This includes monitoring fermentations, brite beer readiness, quality management and maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment throughout the brewery.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain beer quality in our ever expanding cellar
  • Centrifuge operation
  • Beer transfers
  • Dryhopping, fruit additions, etc
  • CIP/CUP/SIP of brewery fermentors and Brite beer tanks
  • Dissolved Oxygen/Co2 reading and recording
  • Weekly participation in packaged beer taste panel
  • Data entry
  • Assist in the cleaning of the cellar areas and the washing of equipment, floors and tools to comply with company sanitation standards
  • Other tasks necessary to ensure smooth daily operations
