Door Person/Busser

Dorchester Brewing is looking for support staff for the Tap Room for weekday/daytime availability as well as nights and weekends. To start ASAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Greet customers both coming and going
Competently verify patron’s age through ID checks
Responsible for overall cleanliness of the tap room, including bathrooms
Ensure MA beverage laws are followed

REQUIREMENTS:

Great attitude
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
2-4 shifts per week.
Weekday and Weekend/Day & Night availability

Packaging Line Operator

Our ideal candidate…

Dorchester Brewing is looking for a packaging team member to help in the daily operation in canning and kegging all of the beer that goes through the facility. The candidate should have the drive to work in a fast-paced brewery environment and the desire to be an ambassador for the growing Dorchester brand.

What to Expect:

  • Running all equipment on kegging and canning lines
  • Start-up and shut-down of utilities and equipment
  • Assistance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment
  • Start-up and shut-down processes
  • Addressing all product quality issues immediately and stopping line if issues cannot be corrected in the immediate
  • Helping to maintain accurate and detailed daily run logs

What We’re Looking for:

  • Entry level job – no brewing experience necessary but brewery experience is preferred
  • Beer education (a plus but not required)
  • Squatting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, twisting; continuous walking & standing; climbing flights of stairs & ladders repeatedly.
  • Requires frequent unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which can range in weight from 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Moving goods w/ the assistance of a pallet jack or possibly forklift. 
  • Extended time in a loud industrial environment. 
  • Properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and follow all safety and company policies.

Brewer

Job Description:

The brewer position at Dorchester Brewing Company is primarily responsible for wort production on the 30 bbl production brewhouse including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knocking out, removing spent grain, and pitching yeast. Additionally, this position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of all vessels and equipment associated with the brewhouse. This position will also be responsible for all brewing, cellaring, and packaging operations associated with the two vessel pilot system. As with all operations staff, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace and reporting or addressing any safety hazards. Other production duties may be assigned as necessary.

This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the brewing process, outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. At any given time, the brewer could be responsible for manipulating and processing three different batches of wort at different stages of production. Time management and organization are critical skills for successfully executing brewhouse operations. Additionally, skills such as recipe development, sensory analysis, mechanical familiarity, and knowledge of steam, glycol, and other facility systems are beneficial. The role is physically demanding, and requires the ability to lift 55 lbs repeatedly and navigate around the equipment and facility.

What to Expect:

Operating all brewhouse equipment on the 30 bbl, four vessel system, including milling and spent grain removal
Operating 5 bbl pilot brewhouse and cellar
Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the brewery
Using all required PPE and contributing to a culture of safety in the workplace
Maintaining detailed and accurate records of all brewhouse operations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
Production brewery experience
Formal brewing education (a plus but not required)
Physical capability to execute all brewhouse operations

Compensation:

This is a full time role. Salary is commensurate with experience

Brand Ambassador & Sales Support Staff

Job Description: 

Dorchester Brewing Co. is looking for a person interested in supporting the Dorchester sales team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get a foot in the door at a great craft brewery. This role will be responsible for visiting accounts that purchase Dorchester products and conducting tastings for some of these accounts. Someone who would be a good fit for this role would have a good understanding of craft beer and brewing and is comfortable with speaking to customers about the Dorchester brand.

Qualifications

  • 21+ years old
  • Driver’s license & reliable vehicle
  • Knowledgeable of craft beer and brewing
  • Comfortable talking with customers about craft beer and brewing
  • TIPs Certified
  • Cicerone Beer Server Certification a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Tastings

  • Conduct tastings set up by Dorchester
  • Set up tasting table
  • Taste customers on DBC SKUs (responsibly)
  • Report on sales due to tastings

Off Premise Merchandising

  • Visit top accounts in both Dorchester and top distributor areas
  • Organize product on shelves and in coolers
  • Restock shelves
  • Communicate with account contacts

Accountability, Management & Communication

  • Internal reporting and communication on tastings, account check-ins and sales
  • Effective communication with Senior Marketing Manager to promote tastings and distribution efforts
  • Communication with Wholesale Manager and Sales Manager

Compensation & Availability

  • $20-22/hr depending on experience
  • Commission and incentive program for sales during tastings
  • 10+ hours per week
  • Must be available nights and weekends

Lead Bartender

Job Description:

Dorchester Brewing Company is looking for a Lead Bartender that is an experienced hospitality veteran with a minimum of 3 years experience to help serve craft beer (and local craft wine, seltzer and cider) in our award winning Dorchester taproom. The ideal candidate will be fun, friendly, have strong interpersonal skills, be motivated, and hardworking with a proven track record in sales. Someone who works well with others, likes craft beer and LOVES to talk to people.

Compensation:

Health Benefits

3 weeks PTO and Sick Days

Salary range is commensurate with experience however, the range for this position is $11-$12.50/hour plus tips
